St Joseph’s Primary School embracing a developmental curriculum based on the Victorian Essential Learnings, the new Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Framework.

Key learning areas are taught through an integrated curriculum, catering to a range of learning styles. Each term a whole school concept provides students opportunities to make rich links and allows students to go deeper with their learning.

The Religious Education program provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge, pray and experience a faith community.

Our sacramental program is parish based and school supported. Students participate in regular school and class Masses at school and our parish church.

We place strong emphasis on developing important literacy and numeracy skills through explicit teaching and focussed group activities. Priority is given to developing the essential fundamental skills including: reading, spelling and grammar, writing and number.

Students access Information Communication Technology including computers and i-pads to enrich their learning and connect with our technology rich world. Students in years 5&6 are provided with their own personal i-pad to assist their learning.

Physical Education lessons, interschool sport, swimming, interschool sports competitions and lunchtime sports activities are all part of our Physical Education Program. Students compete regularly in district and zone competitions.

Our curriculum celebrates diversity, caters for individual needs and encourages learning from each other.

Written reports on student achievement are completed in June and December. Formal and informal assessments are conducted throughout the year.
